Unexpected Interruption…
Everyone, we’ve heard from SLJ that for technical issues (which many of you have been experiencing) they are fast-forwarding their server upgrade to: tonight. This means that at 12 midnight EST we will be “freezing” posting so that they can migrate our content…giving us a face lift in the process! (Check out http://100ScopeNotes.com or http://blogs.slj.com/connect-the-pop for a preview).
After midnight EST…any comments that go up may not be moved in the migration. Jonathan has advanced his next post on MOONBIRD for your consideration, and we’re going to ask you to take a breather… keep on re-reading the titles in our shortlist in preparation for discussion here, and in person in Oakland on Janaury 13th. Look for the news that we’re back before you post future comments.

I will slide in a quick comment, then, that librarian Claire Scott and I are hosting a mock Newbery in Seattle on January 6 at the U District library, using the Heavy Medal shortlist; and since we were both trained up in it by Nina, we’ll be using our best approximation of Nina’s format; and we would be delighted for you to join us.
