Doubling the titles: April Heavy Medal Suggestions
Eighteen new titles were suggested this month, bringing us to a list of 32 total suggestions for the 2023 Heavy Medal Mock Newbery.
I’m excited to have quite the expansive reading list. Imagine where the committee is now, with 15 members having no limit of suggested titles. (I may have gone overboard on suggestions some months/ sorry Newbery friends).
Past Newbery winner, Kelly Barnhill’s title THE OGRESS AND THE ORPHANS made its way to the top, closely followed by AIN’T BURNED ALL THE BRIGHT, I MUST BETRAY YOU, LOVE IN THE LIBRARY, and NEW FROM HERE. Starred titles are newly nominated this month.
