Goodbye For Now from Heavy Medal

We’ve completed all of our Mock Newbery 2024 stuff here on Heavy Medal. Great book discussions, three Mock Newbery elections (Reader’s Poll, Webcast Poll, and Viewer’s Poll), and the grand finale when we finally learned which book was selected for the 2024 Newbery Medal.
And we’ll do it all again for the 2025 Newbery cycle. For Heavy Medal, that means building a list of Newbery suggestions during the first eight months of the year. Starting at the beginning of March, we’ll ask readers to suggest Newbery title on a monthly basis. We won’t really discuss those books, but we’ll update the list every month to help us all get a sense for what other people are reading and liking from the 2024 publishing year.

In early September, we’ll return to look more closely at the books with more in-depth discussion that will continue throughout the fall, ending once again in Mock elections and the real announcements (January 27, 2025…and it’s in Phoenix this time, so we can all sleep a little later).
Thanks from Emily and I to everyone who read, commented, and participated in Heavy Medal this past year!
